The purpose of this site is to offer useful information on buying property in Prime Central London. Although only a select number of individuals will ever be eligible to become members of our club, I have decided to make this information available to everyone.

I founded Mercury Homesearch in 2001 having been shocked by the poor service I was being offered by estate agents. Initially I was annoyed by the amount of wasted time and poor advice I was receiving. I assumed this was simply due to estate agents being incompetent.

However, after further consideration I realised this was unfair. Many of the estate agents were actually very good at looking after their clients. Unfortunately as a buyer, I was not their client and nor are you. The estate agents’ client is the seller, i.e. the agents are legally obliged to sell their clients’ homes on the best terms possible. If they show you a home that is totally unsuitable for you they are still fulfilling their role: marketing their client’s property to the widest audience possible. As many an estate agent will tell you, numerous buyers have bought homes that have not coincided with their original criteria. (Why do people buy properties that are not what they were originally hoping to acquire? My guess is that in many cases the buyer has not really been thorough in the preparation and planning stage.)

Consequently I founded Mercury to act on behalf of buyers. Since then we have become London’s Internationally Renowned Property Search Agents. Our views have featured in the Financial Times, The Sunday Times, Spear’s Wealth Management Survey, Bahrain Confidential, Bespoke International, The Daily Telegraph, The Wall Street Journal, Wealth Bulletin and many other publications besides.
